2nd august 2009 here in britain young men used to call young women birds we called young women birds because young men and small boys would be at home doing nothing in particular when, from another room, a spontaneous burst of happiness caused a small boy's mother or a young man's wife to start singing their favourite song it was just like a bird had flown into the house and started singing
